EBay monitors Boston Marathon medals

EBay says it is monitoring its auction selections so that people are not able to personally profit from items sold from the Boston Marathon. Runners’ medals are currently for sale on the site, and all proceeds collected must go directly to charity.

Jonathan Resnick, an accountant in southern California, purchased a medal for sale on Ebay. His winning bid will be donated to The American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts through Ebay’s program of charitable giving.

The replacement officials will be replaced Thursday in time for the Ravens and Browns game on Thursday night football. The NFLRA and the NFL owners’ reached an agreement late Wednesday night that included compromises on both sides, including a pension plan for current referees and an increased salary.
