Clinton defends against Trump attacks

Hillary Clinton issued a strong defense of the Clinton Foundation on Wednesday amid claims from Donald Trump accusing Clinton of using her time in public office for personal gain. “What Trump has said is ridiculous,” Clinton said to CNN’s Anderson Cooper. “My work as secretary of state was not influenced by any outside forces. I made policy decisions based on what I thought was right.” Trump recently attacked the Clinton Foundation, saying foreign governments and businesses only give when they get something in return. “It is impossible to figure out where the Clinton Foundation ends and the State Department begins,” Trump said Tuesday night at a rally in Austin, Texas. “The specific crimes committed to carry out that enterprise are too numerous to cover in this speech.” “I know there’s a lot of smoke, and there’s no fire,” Clinton said.

Leslie Jones’ website taken down after hack

“Saturday Night Live” star Leslie Jones’ personal website is down after the actress was reportedly being targeted by hackers Wednesday. The hackers reportedly posted some of Jones’ personal information on the site, such as nude photographs, and a video of the slain Cincinnati Zoo gorilla. The attack was reminiscent of racially charged harassment Jones faced last month on Twitter. After news of the hack broke, celebrities – including Katy Perry, Questlove and Octavia Spencer – took to Twitter to show their support for Jones. Last month, Jones spoke to Seth Meyers about the insults she receives on Twitter. “Unfortunately I’m used to insults, but what scared me was the injustice of a gang of people jumping against you for such a sick cause,” she told Meyers. “It’s so gross and mean and unnecessary.”

National Park Service to create ‘living emblem’

The National Park Service is creating a giant, living version of its emblem on the National Mall on Thursday. The park service says more than 1,000 people will use brown, green and white umbrellas to recreate the emblem. The first 1,000 people to arrive will get to keep their umbrella and a T-shirt commemorating their participation. The park service says it will take on aerial photograph of the emblem that it will share on the National Mall and Memorial Parks website and social media. The emblem contains elements that symbolize major facets of the national park system, the park service says.
