FBI could release Hillary Clinton email report as soon as Wednesday

The FBI expects to publicly release its report on the Hillary Clinton email server investigation as early as Wednesday. The release of the report is in response to numerous FOIA requests. Also to be released is Clinton’s 302, the FBI agent notes taken during Clinton’s voluntary interview at FBI headquarters. According to officials the report is about 30 pages, and the 302 is about 12 pages. Additional notes from interviews of Clinton’s aides are not yet being released.

Chris Brown arrested for suspicion of assault

Singer Chris Brown was arrested Tuesday evening on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. According to an LAPD spokesman, officer’s responded to a woman’s call for help at around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning at Brown’s suburban Los Angeles residence. Police obtained a search warrant Tuesday afternoon and spent several hours at Brown’s residence before he was arrested. “My client’s position is that we’re cooperating,” Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos told HLN’s Dr. Drew Pinsky. “There’s no truth to it, and we’re going to let it play out.” According to TMZ, Brown’s alleged accuser Baylee Curran claims Brown pointed a gun at her after she admired a piece of jewelry of a friend of his. The LAPD has not confirmed Baylee Curran to be the accuser. “Good luck. When you get the warrant or whatever you need to do, you’re going to walk right up in here and you’re going to see nothing, you idiots,” Brown said in a video posted to his social media accounts. “I’m tired of … dealing with y’all.”

Police arrest 2 after shooting at DC McDonald’s

Police arrested two people after a shooting at a McDonald’s restaurant in D.C. that occurred on Aug. 12 around 11:30 a.m. in the bathroom of the restaurant located in the 600 block of F Street Northwest. During the incident one man was shot in the face. He was transported to a hospital in stable condition. D.C. police arrested two people in the crime, a 17-year-old boy from Capitol Heights, Maryland, and 20-year-old Lafayette Booker on Tuesday. Both are charged with assault with intent to rob. The day after the crime a 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged with assault with intent to kill.

Fairfax Co. installs pedestrian-powered crosswalk

Fairfax County officials activated the county’s first pedestrian-powered High-intensity Activated crossWalk (HAWK) traffic signal in Springfield on Tuesday. The signal is located on Backlick Road near Lynbrook Elementary School. “There are many events that take place at the school after school, that some kids simply could not participate in merely because they couldn’t get to and from the school,” said Julie Childers, executive director of TrailsforYouth.org. “Now they at least have an option.” The traffic signals are hoped to improve safety and are part of D.C.’s Vision Zero initiative that strives for zero pedestrian fatalities by 2024. “According to Federal Highway Administration research, HAWK signals reduce pedestrian crashes by 69 percent compared to crosswalks without signals,” Department of Transportation spokeswoman Michelle Phipps-Evans said.

Maryland unveils new license plates

Gov. Larry Hogan unveiled the state’s new standard-issue license plate design Tuesday, which feature the state’s black, gold, red and white flag. The new plates will be available starting Sept. 26. Hogan said he was personally involved in the design process and that it was his idea to use the flag design. The new design replaces the state’s previous standard issue plates that were distributed starting in 2010 and that commemorate the War of 1812. Maryland began issuing redesigned driver’s licenses that also feature a Maryland flag design earlier this year.
