Dear Readers,

As the editor-in-chief of the DC Spotlight newspaper, my staff and I strive to bring the best of politics, news, events and the most interesting newsmakers to you the readers both in the Washington, DC metro area and around the globe on the Internet.  The DC Spotlight gives a different perspective on the news.  We have taken the cynicism out of the news.  Our reporters  simply allow the residents, politicians, performing artists and newsmakers to tell their stories.  The voices in the community build our stories.  Unlike many news organizations, we rely heavily on extensive quotes and less on fluff and sound bites.  We report the facts and then let the newsmakers speak.  This is a new generation of news and the DC Spotlight is leading the way.

We want to be the voice of the community.  Our goal is to showcase the best the metro area has to offer.   This is reflected in every section and issue of our newspaper.

The “Limelight” section showcases the best performers, musicians and artists who both visit and live in the metro area.

The “Sports Insider” and “Sports Leader board” sections cover local and national sports and athletes from professional and college sports.

The “Bon Appetit” section covers the best local restaurants, chefs and cuisine in the metro area.

The “Chesapeake Kitchen” section has recipes and instructions on how to create delicious dishes.

The “A Slice of Wisdom” column by Kimberly Collins is the voice of reason for all women searching for guidance.

The ”Healthy Living” section covers all health and wellness issues from exercise and dieting to psychological and mental health.
