New details surrounding the prostitution arrest of basketball analyst and former NBA player Greg Anthony have been revealed. According to the court documents, Anthony unknowingly tried to pick up an undercover cop in disguise as a prostitute. The arrest happened on January 16 at a DoubleTree Hotel in Washington. Having the whole thing planned ahead of time, he checked into Room 805. The undercover officer told Anthony that intercourse would cost $80, and he then expressed interest in seeing her dressed up.  Anthony responded to an escort ad placed by the authorities on Backpage.com. He was suspended by CBS and Turner Sports for an indefinite period of time. He issued a formal statement calling his actions a “mistake” and “lapse of judgment.” Prior to the arrest, he had been scheduled to announce a basketball game between Michigan State and Maryland in College Park, Maryland.  February 2 will be his next scheduled court appearance. Anthony could face up to 90 days in jail if convicted.
