A large assortment of African American art from the private collection of Bill Cosby and his wife Camille will be exhibited at the Smithsonian beginning in November. The entire collection, gathered over four decades, includes more than 300 paintings, prints, sculptures and drawings. All but one of these pieces has never been loaned or publicly exhibited. More than 60 pieces will be part of the exhibition later this fall.

“Conversations: African and African-American Artworks in Dialogue” will open Nov. 9 and will remain on view through early 2016 as part of the National Museum of African Art’s 50th anniversary.
