‘GoodFellas’ cast to reunite for 25th anniversary

The Tribeca Film Festival will close out its 2015 run with a special 25th anniversary screening of the mob classic Goodfellas at New York’s Beacon Theatre. Legendary director Martin Scorsese and the film’s creators and cast (including Tribeca Film Festival co-founder Robert De Niro) will reunite for a post-screening discussion hosted by Jon Stewart. The gritty gangster film also starred Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco, Ray Liotta and Paul Sorvino. GoodFellas. The movie depicts the trials and tribulations of a family of gangsters over a thirty-year time span. The film earned six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director and was named 1990s Best Film by the New York, Los Angeles and National Society of Film Critics. Back in 2000, GoodFellas was specially hand-selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the U.S. Library of Congress. The festival will run from April 15-26, 2015.
