Jon Hamm and other fellow Mad Men co-stars Christina Hendricks and John Slattery paid a visit to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History on Friday to donate props, costumes, artwork and a script from the hit show. The show’s creator Matthew Weiner was also present at the donation ceremony as the Smithsonian Institute graciously accepted more than fifty artifacts from the 1960’s series that also includes business cards, packets of smokes, bottles of liquor, and Don Draper’s trademark gray suit and fedora. Some objects will be featured in a future exhibit slated for 2018. The props join the museum’s growing collection from other classic TV series, including The Wonder Years, M*A*S*H, All in the Family and Seinfeld. The institute’s first business history exhibition ‘American Enterprise,’ will be opening later this year. Mad Men’s final season begins April 5.
