A defamation lawsuit has been filed against Glenn Beck, accusing him of saying on air that the plaintiff, a Saudi Arabian man injured in the Boston Marathon bombings, was the “money man” behind the attack. Filed in Boston on Friday, the federal lawsuit, filed by Abdulrahman Alharbi, claims Alharbi’s reputation has been “substantially and severely damaged” as a result of Beck’s statements, tying him to the bombings. Alharbi, 20, who attends a college in the Boston area, claims that he was injured in the bombings and questioned by authorities who searched his apartment before determining he had no connection to the attack. The lawsuit is seeking both a jury trial and unspecified damages.
