Joan Rivers is on life support after going into cardiac arrest last week, confirms her family. The 81-year-old comedian was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, Manhattan, after she stopped breathing during a procedure at a doctor’s office, Thursday.
Rivers maintains a long and busy career as host of “Fashion Police” on the E! network and co-star of the WEtv reality show, “Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?
Daughter Melissa Rivers said Tuesday that the family is grateful for public support. In a statement Friday she said her mother was “receiving the best treatment and care possible.”
New York City police officials confirmed that Rivers was taken to the hospital just after 9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2014. She remains in serious condition.
