Anne Arundel County police have warned locals that a police impersonator pulled a woman over on Saturday night. The woman told police that the impersonator was in a white Ford Crown Victoria, similar to official police cars, with flashing lights in blue and red and a fake police decal on the door. The suspect told the woman he was an Anne Arundel County police officer and tested her sobriety. When she began to use her cellphone, the impersonator let her go and drove away to northbound Route 97. The suspect is described at a white male who is 6 feet tall and medium build. He has brown hair and a mustache and was wearing a silver badge inscribed with “Williams.” Police remind residents that they can call 911 to verify an officer’s identity if they are suspicious.
