A former Maryland Transportation Authority Police officer has been rewarded $127,000 by a federal jury after she claimed she was sexually harassed by an instructor at the agency’s police academy. Renee Basil received the money from both the police academy and Officer Michael A. Noel, the alleged offender In a 2012 lawsuit, Basil stated that Noel had made inappropriate comments toward her during her training. She then stated she was fired upon alerting a supervisor of Noel’s behavior after he was re-hired as a contractor.
