Maryland inmate dead one week after release

0

An inmate was found dead one week after he was released from Caroline County Jail on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The family of Scott deNagay is blaming the detention facility for contributing to his death. According to them, a lack of communication and no discharge plan played a role in deNagy’s death. His body was found on January 19 under a bridge in Denton. There were no signs of foul play. The jail’s warden Ruth Colbourne stated that she’s sorry about his death, but that corrections officials aren’t allowed to contact family members in regards to an inmate’s release date. She also said that’s up to the individual. No further details are available at this time.
