More than a dozen police officers in Prince George’s County, Maryland are set to be honored with valor awards this week. The officers are being recognized for their courageous actions during various incidents in 2014. They include disarming a man who had fatally shot someone, firing at a father who had taken the life of his own 3-year-old daughter, and stopping a knife-wielding assailant. The awards ceremony will be held in Greenbelt on Wednesday. This will be the 38th year the department has given out the valor awards.
