Financial officers from Prince George’s County schools resigned Monday after school officials discovered that Maryland investigators had found them party to insurance fraud. Colby R. White, chief financial officer and his wife Keisha White, an internal auditor had been placed on administrative leave with pay Friday. Their full resignations have been accepted and became effective immediately. The Maryland Insurance Administration ordered them to pay $6,000 for filing a claim for a lost wedding ring. This claim was discovered to be fraudulent, and had been placed with two different insurance companies in a five-month span. The county named Chief Operating Officer Monica Goldson to assume White’s responsibilities temporarily.
