Chelsea Clinton gave birth to a daughter named Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky late Friday. The baby is the only child of former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and former President Bill Clinton, who together released a statement about the “glowing” health of mother and child. Chelsea Clinton, 34, has a prominent role as vice chair of the Clinton Foundation, a philanthropic organization that works on global programs for health care and women’s issues. She announced in August that she was leaving NBC news, where she worked as a reporter, to focus on her child and her work with the foundation. Husband Marc Mevzvinsky is a hedge fund manager and the child of two former members of Congress. They married in 2010, after meeting in their youth and attending Stanford University together. The couple lives in New York.
