Man receives winning lottery ticket in get-well card

A Pennsylvania man recovering from surgery recently won a $7 million prize off a lottery ticket tucked into a get-well card.  Joseph Amorese of Easton, got the ticket as a little get-well gift from his father, who lives in the hamlet of Congers in Rockland County, New York. After discovering that the ticket was a winner, Amorese drove out to the same store that the ticket was originally purchased (Just A Dollar store at 20 North Main Street) on Wednesday to claim his prize. New York lottery officials presented Amorese with a large ceremonial check to commemorate winning the “$7,000,000 Golden Ticket” game. The odds of hitting the jackpot are 1 in 3,708,000. This was the second time this year someone in the Lower Hudson Valley won a major lottery jackpot. Back in January, a 48-year-old Yonkers construction worker won a $5 million prize.
