NATIONAL – Harriet Tubman to appear on the $20 bill

0

The $20 bill will have a makeover when the 7th president of the United States will be replaced by Harriet Tubman.  Tubman is the abolitionist who used the underground railroad to free slaves and take them to the North. Tubman now joins a group of icons who have their portraits on U.S. currency: George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Benjamin Franklin. Tubman will now become the first African-American and first women in 100 years to be depicted on currency.
