CNN reports that Amber Vinson, the second nurse to contract Ebola in Dallas has recovered from the disease and has been released from treatment in Atlanta. In a statement to the media, Vinson thanked former Ebola patients Dr. Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol for donating plasma to the victims and said she was “grateful to be well.” Vinson was transferred to the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta on Oct. 15. Emory staff report learning much from the treatment of Vinson and three other patients, and they will be sharing that with health workers in the U.S. and in West Africa. Only one confirmed case of Ebola remains in the U.S. at this time; Dr. Craig Spencer is being treated at a New York hospital.
