A two-year-girl has passed away from injuries sustained after being mauled by a pit bull. The victim was Paylynn Devaugh of West Mifflin. West Mifflin is about ten miles southeast of downtown Pittsburgh. The dog attacked the girl inside of an unknown home at around 8:45 p.m. Sunday. The child was pronounced dead at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Police stated that Paylynn lived in nearby Forest Hills. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday. Pittsburgh police will continue to investigate the incident.
