Hurricane Sandy may hamper campaigns and early voting
Both the Obama and Romney campaign are gearing up for an intense final week of campaigning in the face of campaign poll numbers that place them neck-and-neck. But on the horizon looms a major threat to both their plans. Hurricane Sandy is gathering strength and most of the models are projecting it will hit the east coast next week. The Obama campaign cancelled a scheduled Saturday night appearance of Vice President Joe Biden in Virginia Beach as a “caution to ensure that all local law enforcement and emergency management resources can stay focused on ensuring the safety of people who might be impacted by the storm.” Romney also cancelled a scheduled appearance in Virginia Beach for Sunday evening.
