The Fairfax County School Board decided Thursday to move high school start times to between 8 and 8:10 a.m and middle schools at 7:30 a.m. The process of changing the time will involve more buses, and bus drivers, resulting in a $5 million increase in the cost to the school district. Only one board member, Kathy Smith, voted against the proposal. Elementary school start times will remain about where they are now.
