Maureen McDonnell’s sentencing on nine counts of public corruption has been reset for February 20, 2015, after she requested a postponement. The former Virginia first lady was convicted in connection with her husband, former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell in September. Bob McDonnell was convicted on 11 counts of public corruption. The couple was tied to former Star Scientific Inc. CEO Jonnie Williams who gave them more than $165,000 in gifts, trips and loans in exchange for favors. Maureen McDonnell requested the postponement as one of her attorneys had a prior engagement on the original day assigned for sentencing. Bob McDonnell’s sentencing is set for January 6, 2015.
