A judge has dismissed a part of a lawsuit filed by the mother of a Virginia Tech student who was killed. The portion dismissed by Charlottesville Circuit Court Jay Swett accused Regional Marketing Concepts Inc,. of breaching its contract when they failed to protect Morgan Harrington from criminal behavior. Swett allowed the lawsuit filed by Harrington’s mother, Gil Harrington, to move along, ruling. that Regional Marketing might have been negligent when its staff denied Morgan Harrington re-entry to the John Paul Jones arena on Oct. 17, 2009. Morgan disappeared after she left the arena in Charlottesville, where she had attended a concert. Her body was found in January 2010 in a hayfield.
