The first day of school for Prince William County schools will be August 31, 2015. In order to open before Labor Day, the county needed a waiver from the “Kings Dominion law” that bans schools from opening before the holiday to give more time to tourist destinations. PW County qualified for the waiver due to the number of snow days required over the past 10 years. Other schools in Virginia will likely start September 8, 2015.
