Man charged with murder in double shooting

A Northeast D.C. man has been arrested in connection of a double shooting that left one man dead and another wounded last month. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, 33-year-old Rashad Allen was arrested on Saturday night. He is being charged with the second-degree murder in the shooting of 32-year-old David Simmons. No legal representation has been listed for Allen in online court records. The incident happened early in the morning on March 15 in Southeast. Officers responding to a report in regards to the shooting found Simmons and another man suffering from gunshot wounds on the 2300 block of Hartford Street. Simmons was pronounced dead shortly after, while the other man was transported to the hospital. No further information has been released at this time.
