Mayor to review in case of missing 8 year old girl

Washington’s Mayor Vincent Gray has appointed two deputy mayors to conduct a review of the case of missing 8-year-old Relisha Rudd, asking them to make recommendations about any needed reforms. The mayor stated on Tuesday that there is no indication that government agencies or staff failed in Rudd’s case. Relisha has been missing since March 1 and her multiple absences from school caused authorities to go looking for her. Rudd was last seen with a janitor, Kahlil Tatum, who worked at the homeless shelter where she was living with her family. Tatum was found dead of an apparent suicide in Kenilworth Park during the search for Relisha. Gray stated he wants to move as many families from the shelter as quickly as possible.
