President Barack Obama is pushing research on cars that can talk to one another, stating that such technology could prevent crashes, cut down on traffic and save gasoline. The President visited a federal highway research center in northern Virginia, where he encouraged a partnership between the Transportation Department, auto-makers and the University of Michigan. His trip is part of President Obama’s push for Congress to start funding for highways and transportation. His administration has warned that the Highway Trust Fund will need help by early August.
