On Wednesday, Saudi King Salman appointed a new ambassador to the United States to replace current foreign minister Adel al-Jubeir after his promotion. The ambassador, Prince Abdullah bin Faisal bin Turki bin Abdullah Al Saud, headed the Saudi Arabia General Investment Authority for four years as a minister. The prince is not a direct grandson of Saudi Arabia’s founder and is not regarded as a part of the royal family’s inner circle. Relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States have cooled since the nuclear deal with Iran that the former opposed was passed.  Saudi Online Evisa
