7 American troops killed in Afghan crash
In southern Afghanistan on Thursday, seven American troops were among 11 people who were killed in a helicopter crash, according to NATO’s International Security Assistance Force. Three members of Afghan National Security Forces and an Afghan civilian interpreter were also killed in the crash of the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter.
Three of the Americans were from United States Forces-Afghanistan, and the other four were classified as ISAF. Military analyst Bill Roggio told CNN he believes the helicopter could have been involved in a raid, a resupply mission, or a special operation because the Americans and Afghans who were on the flight were from different commands. The ISAF said the cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
