Afghan rebels attack U.S base
Afghan rebels attacked a U.S base yesterday, destroying a NATO helicopter and also killing 3 Afghan intelligence employees. Other NATO members were injured but not killed. The attacks are probably in connection with the Sept 11th anniversary. The Taliban spokesman reported that they had fired rockets in the base, reportedly killing many more than the official report the U.S gave.
“Eleven years on from that day there should be no doubt that our dedication to this commitment, that commitment that was seared into our souls that day so long ago, remains strong and unshaken, ” said Marine Gen John Allen, the top commander of U.S. troops. The Taliban claimed responsibility of the attack on the U.S base.
