Iran showcases new air defense system
On Friday Iran showcased a new air defense system specifically designed to counterattack American warplanes. It’s designed to fight fighter jets, smart bombs, and helicopters. The defense system is said to be more complex than it’s Russian counterpart, according to the state run government media outlet. The United States and Israel have not eliminated the possibility of attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities, which the U.S claims are for researching an atomic bomb. Iran denies the charge and says the facilities are for clean energy sources.
“Let’s the world know that Iran’s great nation will defend its rights, implementation of justice and well as human dignity,” president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said. Iran also has several missiles with the capability of reaching Israel and neighboring Europe countries. This comes after U.S led drills on the Persian Gulf that the U.S said were defensive in nature. Iran agreed with the U.S statement.
