WORLD – 24 migrants dead after boat tips over in Mediterranean, 10 are children

Forty-five migrants were on a boat in the Mediterranean on Wednesday evening when it tipped over.  At least 24 migrants drowned and 10 were children. One of the survivors from the capsizing of the boat washed ashore and alerted authorities. Members of the Hellenic Coast Guard and Frontex, the European Union’s border patrol agency, responded at the scene while planes from the Hellenic Air Force surveyed the area from above, according to the Coast Guard representative.
