WORLD – Big Ben, the “Great Clock” will be stopped for repairs

For over a century and a half, Big Ben, the gigantic London clock has kept accurate time, but London officials are now taking precautionary measures to prevent an untimely failure of the clock.  In early 2017, the clock will be stopped for a $42 million repair job that will span over three years.  This procedure has only occurred three times since the clock was built.  The clocks sits in Elizabeth Tower near the House of Parliament in London.
