On Monday, actor Emile Hirsch started serving his 15 -day sentence in a Utah jail for assaulting a female studio executive. The assault took place in January at a nightclub during the Sundance Film Festival. Hirsch body-slammed the executive, dragged her across a table, and put her into a chokehold. He was intoxicated and on medications at the time, and has expressed his sincere regret for his actions. After the attack, he went to a rehab. For these reasons, he was allowed a light sentence of 15 days in jail, along with an agreement to refrain from drink alcohol and drugs, a $4,750 fine, and 50 hours of community service.
