Prince William Named Daughter Diana

World – The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge named their daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. Her name is tribute to Prince William’s late mother. Now, the newborn is almost three days old and preparing to drive to meet Her Majesty in Norfolk with her family.

Mayweather Deemed Finest Boxer of This Generation

Sports – Floyd Mayweather beat Manny Pacquiao with an amazing presentation of his skill. The three judges concurred on 10 of the 12 rounds, but after the fight Bob Arum claimed Pacquiao was denied an anti-inflammatory injection for a shoulder injury. However, with one of the richest fights in boxing history, there may be no rematch for these two.

Military Sexual Assaults Go Unreported

Politics – Senator Gillibrand, D-N.Y., reported that the Pentagon adamantly refused to provide all requested information concerning sexual assaults on base. The limited information available disclosed that the spouses of service members are more susceptible to sexual assault. According to the senator, in the analysis of 107 cases, the alleged assailant was often believed over the victim.

New Speed Traffics Camera in District

D.C. – The Metro Police has installed five new cameras in the city where, reportedly there has been an increase in speeding violations. There will be a 30-day period where those in violation of the posted limits will receive warning citations. After the educational period, speeders will receive moving violations.

Teacher Arrested for Child Pornography

Maryland – Dan Kevin Scott was arrested in Baltimore and charged with five counts of possessing and five counts of distributing child pornography. Scott is employed by Patterson High School and taught students at Central Middle School in the past. Police are asking anyone with more information to call Child Abuse detective Joshua Williams at (410) 222-3484.
