Melissa Gilbert, who played Laura Ingalls Wilder on ‘Little House on the Prairie,’ announced that she will be running for Congress. Gilbert is running as a Democrat against a first-term Republican Rep. Mike Bishop from Michigan’s 8th congressional district. Bishop won his election with 54% of the vote after the previous representative retired. Bishop’s spokesman mentioned that Gilbert owes $300,000 in back taxes to the IRS, which he said showed that her values don’t match the voter’s main values.
