Sheriff’s office: woman poured hot grits on man, hit him with baseball bat

The Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office announced that Alexis Staton, 42, was arrested on assault charges. The sheriff’s office reports that Staton poured hot grits on a sleeping man and when he jumped up, she hit him in the head with a bat. The victim had burns and his head was bleeding after the incident, which happened in Capitol Heights. Staton is in the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections for processing. She is charged with second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
