Trump allowed to keep big sign in Washington

Regulators in the District of Columbia have ruled that it is legal for Donald Trump to have his name on a big sign in the city despite running for president. Trump is turning the Old Post Office Building on Pennsylvania Ave. into a hotel. Councilmember Charles Allen asked regulators whether Trump now needed a sign permit after announcing his presidential bid. The Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs responded Friday, saying that, because the area is under the jurisdiction of the federal government, Trump does not need a permit for the sign. Trump recently caused controversy after his comments about Mexican immigrants.
