Stephen Brumme, a 60 year-old real estate agent was caught stealing the clothes of a woman whose family’s house is for sale. Brumme was caught on the family’s surveillance security system pocketing three shirts from their closets. The Arlington County Police Department is asking other homeowners to come forward if they believe they have been robbed.
According to police, Brumme legally entered the house on February 9th for a house showing. He arrived before his clients, as typical of real estate agents, and proceeded to snoop around the house and through the family’s possessions. The family says that the video made them feel very uncomfortable and they were shocked that someone could commit those crimes. Brumme has since been arrested and released on bail. Brumme has also had his real estate license suspended.
