‘Teen Mom’ Amber Portwood checks into prison
MTV’s Teen Mom star Amber Portwood has started her five-year prison sentence at Indiana’s Rockville Correctional Facility. According to a spokesman for the state’s Department of Corrections, the 22-year-old will start her prison term with a two-week “diagnostic and evaluation period.” During this time, Portwood will only be allowed to receive mail. MTV’s “Teen Mom’s” Amber Portwood will be in an Indiana prison for the next two years or more after opting out of a drug-treatment program. Circuit Judge David Happe of Madison County, Indiana ruled Tuesday that the 22-year-old reality-show star must serve five years in prison.
